This is embarrassing, but I just made a batch of the Oatcakes from my recently-released A Wee Scottish Cookbook…and I found an error!
If you already ordered the cookbook, please make the following correction on the Oatcakes recipe: 1/4-1/3 cup hot water. Add slowly until just moistened.
This is a bit of a mystery since I tested all the recipes at least once. All I can figure is that I baked from the ingredients listed on the bag of Bob’s Red Mill Scottish Oatmeal, and I wrote the ingredients from the website, which reads 1/2 cup hot water.
I’m so sorry for this inconvenience. This will get corrected ASAP! And don’t let it shake your confidence in the rest of the recipes. They really are good, one of my particular favorites being Chicken Bonnie Prince Charlie.
